Campus & Co. London
Complete Fit-out and refurbishment of a former Indian Restaurant into a local community shop
An extremely run-down restaurant with kitchens and living accommodation on the upper floors.
At the rear is a conservatory which needed utilising by leading off the shop area. Solar reflective film was applied to the glazing with black ceiling inside painted to corporate colours. This area needed specialist air conditioning to maintain the correct environmental conditions.
Commercial cooking and food prep kitchens with a blocked grease trap all needed stripping out and sanitising before converting into bulk storage and packaging areas.
Being a 3-storey building, there were significant columns in the open plan area to design the racking layout around, and some further structural openings to be formed to comply with the C&Co Store Design Brief.
The traditional granite topped bar was transformed into a very useable caferia area.
A secure outdoor shelter with cold stores allows for early morning deliveries before staff arrive, with direct pallet access through a new shutter door into the preparation area.
By creating a segregated lobby, the first/second floor rooms have been converted into offices with hot desking, kitchen, toilets etc.
The secure car park with 50 spaces provides ample for customer, staff and office tenants.
“I have worked with Fairbank on a few Campus & Co. fit-out projects, and they are especially valuable where structural alterations may be needed to improve the useability, or planning applications for new building.
They are conversant with, and meticulously plan in accordance with the Store Design Brief where possible for space and layout criteria, health and safety requirements, community areas, logistics etc.
